The Main Line is set to gain a new American bistro-style place from restauranteurs Rob Wasserman and Chef Michael Schulson. Currently laying down brickwork and wood flooring in Ardmore?s Suburban Square, The Saint James sounds like it will be a refined steak-and-potatoes joint, also featuring an extensive raw bar. Previously known for his modern Asian fare at his Center City restaurant, Sampan, the native Long Islander Schulson says the new spot marks a return to his East Coast roots. Dishes will range in price from $6-$24 and include things like trout dip, crab salad, grilled tuna steak, and cauliflower gratin. Even though DiNic?s officially has the pork sandwich on lock, The Saint James will feature its own version with spicy kale and sharp provolone. The Saint James is set for an early fall opening date, where it will join a Suburban Square food scene eager to recast itself as the Main Line?s go-to spot for fresh, local fare.
