(AP) ? Amanda Knox says in an interview that what happened to her was "surreal but it could have happened to anyone."

The Seattle native told ABC News' Diane Sawyer in an interview airing Tuesday night that "I want the truth to come out. I'd like to be reconsidered as a person."

In March, Italy's highest criminal court overturned Knox's acquittal in the 2007 murder of British student Meredith Kercher and ordered a new trial for Knox, 25. Italian law cannot compel Knox to return for the new legal proceeding.

Knox told Sawyer the high court's decision was "incredibly painful" and she felt as if she had to crawl through another field of barbed wire after reaching what she thought was the end.

She said she was aware of being labeled a seductress, she-devil and other names in the media, but she said "they're wrong."

"I was in the courtroom when they were calling me a devil," she told Sawyer in interview excerpts posted online. "It's one thing to be called certain things in the media, and it's another thing to be sitting in a courtroom fighting for your life while people are calling you a devil.

"For all intents and purposes I was a murderer, whether I was or not. I had to live with the idea that that would be my life," she said during the interview.

Italian prosecutors have said Knox, who was an exchange student studying in Perugia, Italy, and her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito killed Kercher in a drug-fueled sex assault involving a third man.

They maintained that the murder weapon was a large knife taken from Sollecito's house. Prosecutors said the knife matched the wounds on Kercher's body and had traces of Kercher's DNA on the blade and Knox's DNA on the handle.

However, Knox's defenders said she was innocent and was forced to say things she didn't mean during a lengthy police interrogation. And they said bumbling Italian police contaminated the crime scene, producing flawed DNA evidence.

An Ivorian man is serving a 16-year sentence for Kercher's slaying. A new trial also has been ordered for Sollecito.

Knox said she hopes Kercher's family someday allows her to pay her respects at Meredith's grave.

"I was stunned by her death. She was my friend," Knox said. "My friend had been killed and it could have easily been me."

Since returning to Seattle in 2011, Knox has largely avoided the public spotlight in her Pacific Northwest hometown where she is studying at the University of Washington.

Knox said she's a changed person.

"I'm not as chirpy anymore," she said.

Her memoir, "Waiting to Be Heard," was released Tuesday.

Airbnb Is Just Now Verifying Hosts and Guests

Airbnb is starting to offer something called Verified ID?meaning, it's finally making user's prove that they're real human beings and not a robot or scam artist.

Here's how it works: You can earn a verified badge by showing Airbnb a piece of your online identity?Facebook profile, Twitter account, or even Yelp reviews you've written?as well as a corresponding piece of real-world documentation like a scan of your driver's licence or your passport. The name obviously has to match for you to get a badge.

A quarter of US users will be required to go through this process starting today, and eventually everybody will have to do it. If you want to go ahead and verify yourself, you can do that here. You'd think Airbnb would have introduced something like this by now, but better late than never. [Airbnb]

People with congenital heart disease need physical activity, study suggests

Apr. 29, 2013 ? A new scientific statement from the American Heart Associations reminds physicians and people with congenital heart disease that regular physical activity is still important and should be promoted.

Congenital heart disease (heart structural problems existing since birth) is estimated to affect more than 859,000 children and 850,000 adults in the United States.

According to the statement:

  • While some irregular heart beat conditions may require a restriction in physical activity, "for most, physical activity can be unlimited and should be strongly promoted."
  • Most patients with congenital heart disease are relatively sedentary. But the physical, psychological and social health benefits of physical activity are important for this population which is at risk for exercise intolerance, obesity and other diseases, according to the statement.
  • The recommendations for activity promotion are based on general recommendations for physical activity for healthy children and adults because only a limited amount of research on physical activity among congenital heart disease patients has been done.

Sony Vaio S15 or Dell Latitude E6530

Hello,

I'm buying a new notebook soon and I've decided between these two, the sony vaio s15 and dell latitude e6530. Both have very similar (if not almost identical from a technological point of view) specs. The main use will be programming, browsing the web and watching movies. I will also make use of one or more VMs. Battery life and portability are not important at the moment for me. Which machine does NBR recommend?

Coursera Brings Online Instruction To Teachers, Taking Its First Steps Into The K-12 Market

While some institutions of higher learning have grown skeptical of the MOOC phenomenon spreading through its ranks (and the startups responsible), you have to give Coursera credit for keeping its foot on the gas. In less than six months, the MOOC startup has taken meaningful steps towards monetization and toward becoming a legitimate MOOC university, adding career services, verified certificates for a fee, courses for credit, along with teh addition of 29 new institutions (to bring its total to 62).
